We started Simple Bru because we wanted a neighbourhood coffee shop that felt like home — unpretentious, warm, and consistently excellent.
Our story
Simple Bru Coffee was born out of a love for speciality coffee and a belief that a great cup should be accessible to everyone. We work with trusted South African roasters to source beans that are seasonally interesting, and we train our team to bring out the best in every brew. We are not here to impress you with jargon — we just want to make you a really good coffee. Come as you are, stay as long as you like.

Speciality coffee means sourcing beans that have been carefully grown, processed, and roasted to highlight their natural flavour. We taste every new batch before it hits our grinder, and we dial in our espresso and filter recipes with real care. For us, speciality coffee is not a marketing term — it is a standard we hold ourselves to every single day.
